For the first half of 1969, the only performance engine option on the Dodge Coronet Super Bee was the massive 426 HEMI® engine, which shot the price up 33%. Only 125 were sold with this option. Mid-year the “Six Pack”was introduced as a mid-price performance choice for buyers with the option code A-12. These cars featured a 440ci motor producing 390hp, three dual-barrel carbs, lift-off scooped fiberglass hood, Dana 60 axle with 4:10 ratio, heavy-duty brakes, black steel wheels with performance tires an heavy-duty engine parts. A total of 1907 units of the 1969 1/2 Dodge Coronet Super Bee were produced.

Auto World has replicated the factory-built “pilot car” which tested a new color for mid-1969 called EL5 Butterscotch. The car was originally painted R4 Bright Red before it was modified to A-12 M-code specs and repainted. Under the hood, the engine bay remains the original red. This car also features the optional side scoops, 440ci engine and VX1 black vinyl roof.
